TORRCO OPTIMIZES DISTRIBUTION WITH SNS STRATEGIC FACILITY DESIGN AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Waterbury, Connecticut — April 2026 — Torrco, a leading distributor of plumbing, HVAC, and industrial products, has partnered with SNS to execute a comprehensive Operational Assessment and Warehouse Design Consultancy. The engagement serves as the cornerstone of Torrco’s initiative to refine and optimize its distribution network, establishing a future-ready Central Distribution Center (CDC) engineered for maximum efficiency and growth.

During the project's study phase, SNS conducted a forensic analysis of Torrco’s existing infrastructure, redefining storage strategies and SKU velocity classifications. The project focused on optimizing operational flow to eliminate bottlenecks and improve inventory control. By transitioning from a decentralized footprint to a unified CDC through close collaboration with Torrco’s leadership team, SNS was able to refine the supply chain strategy, unlocking significant value through streamlined inventory management and tighter process standardization.

The program concluded with the delivery of a fully conceptualized design for the new Anamet facility. This design introduces advanced layout principles and the infrastructure necessary to introduce automation layers, including optimized racking systems, high-speed outbound processing areas, specialized internal pipe storage, and intelligent dock and traffic flow planning. Despite the challenge of limited legacy item master data and outdated architectural documentation, SNS rebuilt the operational model from the ground up to ensure every square foot is utilized with surgical precision.

Torrco now benefits from a validated, future-ready distribution blueprint engineered to support product expansion and enhanced demand responsiveness. The design provides a robust foundation for the upcoming implementation of a modern WMS and future automation technologies.
